My name is Chelsea Lafferty (she/her). I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from UNC Charlotte and a Master’s degree in School Counseling from Lenoir-Rhyne University. I spent the first ten years of my career working in the high school setting, as both a teacher and a school counselor.

I feel incredibly thankful to be a part of the UNC Asheville community and to walk through our beautiful campus to get to my office every day. I am here to empower students and advocate on their behalf to ensure that all students have equitable access to learning. I create a safe space for students to discover passions, overcome obstacles and barriers, get connected to campus resources and ultimately achieve all of their academic dreams.

I have three small dogs and if the weather is nice, you might catch us at the dog park. I also love thrifting clothes and home decor, watching reality television, going to see live music, and trying new restaurants.
