Next UNC Asheville Open House Set for November 12

UNC Asheville's Admissions Office will host an open house for high school and transfer students and their families from 8:15 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 12, on campus. Those attending will have the opportunity to meet faculty and staff from all academic areas, and representatives of a wide range of campus organizations. The open house also includes student-led campus tours, and sessions for parents and students on admissions, academics, extracurricular programs, scholarships and other financial aid.

UNC Asheville Board of Trustees Welcomes New Members, Elects Officers; Next Regular Meeting September 30

The UNC Asheville Board of Trustees recently welcomed new members and elected officers. The board is composed of 13 members; eight are appointed by the UNC Board of Governors and four are appointed by the North Carolina governor. The UNC Asheville Student Government Association president, who is elected by the student body, is also a voting member of the board.
“Well-a-Bration” – A Week of Wellness Activities at UNC Asheville

“Well-a-Bration,” a week of activities showcasing UNC Asheville’s health and wellness programs and the grand opening of the new Sherrill Center, will take place Monday, Sept. 12, through Saturday, Sept. 17. The week will feature cooking and exercise programs, meetings of health policy leaders, two expos, and a talk by Dr. Patch Adams, the physician and social activist who inspired the Robin Williams film named for him. Many Well-a-Bration events and activities will be free and open to the public.
UNC Asheville Welcomes 550 Freshmen on Friday; Fall Classes Begin August 22

UNC Asheville is gearing up for the start of the academic year and will welcome some 550 new freshmen this fall. Freshman will move into their residence halls beginning at 9 a.m. Friday, with returning students arriving Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 20-21. Classes begin on Monday, August 22.
UNC Asheville and Mission Health System Sign New Collaborative Agreement

UNC Asheville and Mission Health System signed a new affiliation agreement today, creating the opportunity for expanded collaborations in education, healthy living initiatives and community outreach. The agreement builds on the strong working relationship between the two institutions that was established more than a decade ago.
New Grant to Fund Improvements at the Rudnick Trail at the Center for Craft, Creativity & Design

The Perry N. Rudnick Endowment Fund of the Community Foundation of Henderson County has awarded a $19,000 grant to UNC Asheville’s Center for Craft, Creativity & Design (CCC&D) to improve the center's popular Perry N. Rudnick Nature and Public Art Trail. Funds will be used to update and print trail maps, repair and add signage, clear debris, and add new plants.
