"Symbolization of Species," an exhibit of 10 lithographic prints by UNC Asheville senior Katherine Culatta, will open on Monday, Nov. 11, on campus in Ramsey Library Blowers Gallery. The exhibit is the culmination of Culatta’s work toward a bachelor's degree with a major in art.
Culatta’s multi-layered lithographic prints portray the flora and fauna of Western North Carolina, examine the projection of human emotion and judgment onto nature, and encourage the viewer to consider the complexity of natural processes and the multiple ways of interpreting the natural world.
"Symbolization of Species” will be on view in the Blowers Gallery through Nov. 25 during regular library hours. A closing reception will be held in the gallery from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 22. The exhibit is free and open to the public. For more information, including library hours, visit http://bullpup.lib.unca.edu/library/ or call 828.251.6436.
