"Missing Parts: The Fragmented Human Form," a collection of ceramic sculptures by UNC Asheville senior Kevin Payne, will be exhibited from April 22-May 3 in UNC Asheville's Owen Hall Second Floor Gallery. An opening reception will be held at 6 p.m. Friday, April 22, in the gallery. Payne's slab-built, abstract human figures, with rough, purposeful imperfections, reflect varied responses to shared human experiences such as grief, pain and tragedy.
"Missing Parts: The Fragmented Human Form" is the culmination of Payne's work towards a bachelor's degree at UNC Asheville; he graduated from North Buncombe High School in 1986. The exhibit and opening reception are free and open to the public.
The gallery is open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays. For more information, call UNC Asheville's Art Department at 828.251.6559.
