Finance Committee

The primary responsibilities of the Finance Committee more

  • To review and advise on the financial performance of NCCCR (“Center”) Financial Statements
  • Coordinate preparation, approval and presentation of the Annual budget Budget Procedures
  • Coordinate fundraising efforts
  • Administer the Scholarship fund Scholarships

While the Center’s principal funding is from Membership and Program Fees and an annual State Allocation (Financial Statements), it also relies on other resources to fulfill its needs:

  • Services provided by UNCA – IT services, utilities, and grounds and building maintenance
  • Fundraising [Note: All funds are administered through the UNC Asheville Foundation, a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organization which operates independently from the University]
    • Annual Fund – provides for programs and projects not included in the annual budget (e.g., upgrades to the audio visual equipment)
    • Special projects - e.g., the Reuter Center’s $4.3 million construction cost was entirely funded by contributions
  • Volunteers – The ongoing commitment of thousands of volunteer man-hours are a vital Center resource
    more information

The Center’s finances are coordinated through and monitored by UNCA’s Office of Finance, and the Center’s accounts are included in UNCA’s annual financial audit.
