The
Music Technology program, leading to the B.S. degree, was
established at UNCA in 1982. We have a wide array of analog and
digital recording equipment, including two Pro Tools HD recording
systems with 96 I/O interfaces, 15 Pro Tools LE systems with
Digi003, 002, and M-Box interfaces, and 16 and 24 track 1"
multi-track analog tape machines. In our main studio control room,
we are installing the newly developed SSL AWS 900+ recording and
mixing console. This professional hybrid analog console also
functions as a digital control surface for one of our Pro Tools HD
systems. We have an electronic music lab fully-outfitted with gear
invented and built by electronic music pioneer (and former UNCA
Music Professor) Dr. Bob Moog. Courses are taught in UNCA's
recording studio, our 5.1 surround sound mixing/editing/mastering
studio, and our 14-station electronic keyboard classroom.
