Value is determined by what you get, not how much you pay. UNC Asheville provides the benefits of a private college -- low student-faculty ratios, undergraduate research and a challenging liberal arts curriculum -- all at a state school price. Most importantly, our students graduate with some of the lowest average levels of debt among North Carolina's public universities.
UNC Asheville students can qualify for a wide range of financial assistance and loan programs.
- More than half of our students receive financial aid.
- 88% of these students' financial needs were met.
- You can apply for federal, state and institutional aid.

The Laurels Scholarship, our merit-based scholarship, offers a variety of awards ranging from partial assistance to full tuition and fees–plus admittance to the Honors Program. Almost every major at UNC Asheville offers its own set of Departmental Scholarships. Requirements vary, but students with more than 12 credit hours can apply.
