Seniors celebrate new season and final semester at UNC Asheville
By the time seniors make it to graduation, they can taste UNC Asheville blue. The class of 2013 added a few more colors to the mix, throwing powdered paint at white t-shirts to commemorate their experience on campus.
“It’s all natural, but you might be spitting blue for a while,” says An Truong, a member of the Senior Class Board. He helped organize the event based on his experience with the Asia Club, which hosts a Holi festival every year.
The traditional Hindu festival Holi celebrates the beginning of the spring, so the Senior Class Board adopted the celebration as part of their inaugural senior week. Events are held throughout the week culminating in a cook-out.
The Holi celebration definitely caught the most attention.
